Description
The only raisonne of the work of Gene Kloss, one of America's finest printmakers. A member of the National Academy, Kloss created prints rich in American West imagery and historical content. This is the largest compilation of Kloss' images ever published and is the culmination of over 13 years of research and collaboration with collectors, galleries and fine arts museums. The full color, two volume set contains 482 of Kloss' 627 catalogued images, 33 rare uncataloged prints and 13 sketches spanning 1924 to 1985. Personal notes and letters from Kloss and her dealer of over 30 years, the late Mary L. Sanchez of Gallery A in Taos, are included as well as an extensive alphanumeric cross-reference of all catalogued images, with updated dimensions, dates, edition numbers and media.
